My Christmas Skincare Wish List + Mini Guide to Skincare Understanding
Hi!
I hope you all are coping well this December and this -so much wanted- end of the year.
Today I was starting to plan my wish list for these Christmas holidays and I thought that I would share some of the secrets I have to get the best skincare products on the market, as well as showing you this year's wishlist!
After having gotten acquainted (later this year) with Hyram , I feel I have improved so (SO!) much my skincare routine. I have combination to oily skin, and getting rid of many of the products I used to swear by a couple years ago (mainly my Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3) has been one of the best decisions I have made this year.
I have finally been able to manage to eliminate the sort of fungal - always present acne and milia that I always had, and discovered that my skin is not super oily as I thought it was: I was stripping too much of my skin, so it used to produce too much oil.
Knowing whether your skin is sensitive is crucial. I know mine is; which is why I started to use the InciDecoder before making any more bad purchases. It is a website in which you basically paste the ingredients of a skincare product and it will tell you the function of each ingredient in the formula. It is capable of showing you how stripping to the skin each ingredient is, the function it has in your skin and on the formula of the product, and from there you are more than informed to make a decision on whether or not purchasing it.
This tool has helped me detect fragrances within my products, which have definitely caused sensitivity, redness, and milia on my skin without me even noticing. It also has helped me with knowing which ingredients to look for when purchasing skincare: Niacinamide (in low percentages), Vitamine B3, and Salicylic Acid.
All in all, I truly swear by understanding what you are applying to your face.

Now I will proceed with my wishlist. It is filled with staples for a minimal, basic skincare routine.
1. Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant
Few ingredients, but all goodies. It does not contain alcohol, which is a very drying ingredient, and instead it is filled with Salicylic Acid (fighting acne and redness) and Green Tea Leaf Extract (for soothing the skin).
2. Rovectin Clean Lotus Water Cream
A great formula for a moisturizer, which includes Glycerin, Niacinamide, and no perfume! Plus, the price range is great.
3. Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF40
If there is a step in your routine you cannot miss is your sunscreen. On a daily basis. It will help with the un-appearance of early wrinkles, will keep your complexion even, and reduce a potential risk of cancer.
The Supergoop! sunscreen is invisible, and provides a sheer layer so then you can apply your makeup normally. It has some amazing ingredients such as Jojoba esters, that provide a soothing effect to the skin.
I hope to have helped you get at least a bit more into what we put on our faces :)
See you next time!
